Registration for the 2024 Advanced Placement (AP®) Exams for Sage Creek HS

Please read carefully through the information below on Advanced Placement (AP®) exams to ensure awareness of policies and requirements.
EXAM REGISTRATION DEADLINES AND PROCEDURES FOR 2023-2024:
STEP 1: Activate your exam on The College Board MyAP website – Students must JOIN their AP® Exam Class on the MyAP Site at https://myap.collegeboard.org to activate their exam order and complete the process. To access the site, create or use a College Board Profile. (See Information and Policies or FAQs for more details.) Deadline to activate the exam is October 13, 2023.
STEP 2: Submit Exam Fees – Review the information and policies below, then submit exam fees between August 23 and October 23, 2023 via the link below.

AP® Exam Registration Regulations and Policies 2023-2024:
1. The cost of each test will be $117. Registration runs from August 23 through October 13, 2023.
A late fee of $43 will be added to the exam fee if registering between October 14 and October 27, 2023.
To submit an exam order:
STEP 1: Activate your exam on The College Board MyAP website by October 13 – Students must JOIN their AP® Exam Class on the MyAP Site at https://myap.collegeboard.org to activate the exam order by clicking on “Register for Exam” and complete the process. To access the site, create or use a College Board Profile. (See FAQs)
College Board Profiles are the same profiles/accounts students have used to collect SAT®, PSAT/NMSQT® and past AP® scores. Students will log into MyAP using their College Board Profiles and JOIN each of the online AP® Classes that correspond to their AP® Courses being taken at SCHS. Students will require a Join Code to join the online group – Join Codes will be distributed by SCHS AP® Course teachers.
All students are encourage to complete the Join step on MyAP to enable access to the FREE College Board resources available on the site for use in class. Students choosing to take the optional AP® Exam must complete the Join step on MyAP as well as submit AP® Exam fee. Joining the class on MyAP activates the exam. Exams will be ordered ONLY if corresponding fees are also on file. (see FAQs).
STEP 2: Submit Exam Fees – Submit exam fees between August 23 and October 13, 2023 via Submit AP® Exam Payment
Payment is submitted via the APTS Payment Form either using debit or credit card or by mailing in a check or money order to APTS. Instructions are provided on the payment form. Postmark deadline to ensure timely processing of mail in payments is October 10, 2023..
Late registration between October 14 and October 27 will incur a penalty fee of $43 per exam.
⇒ Failure to complete BOTH steps above before October 27, 2023 will mean that the exam order is incomplete and the AP® Coordinator will not be able to submit the exam order to College Board and the exam will be deactivated in MyAP.
No exam orders will be initiated after October 27, 2023 and there is no standby testing.
2. Fee reductions are available but must be applied for by October 4 to ensure meeting the registration deadline. Approval may take several days. To apply for a fee reduction, submit the Fee Reduction Application linked below to SCHS Registrar, Mrs. Vicki Ruby, at vruby@carlsbadusd.net

Eligible students will receive a fee reduction discount code to apply to the online exam fee payment form.
3. Special Accommodations information can be obtained from your special education case manager or counselor. Applications must be submitted in advance for approval from College Board. Deadline to submit an application to College Board is January 18, 2024.
4. Cancellations/Refunds: Students who order and pay for an exam but decide to cancel with written notification before 11:59pm October 27, 2023 will receive a full refund of the exam fees (credit card fees are non-refundable). Cancellation requests submitted between October 28, 2023 11:59pm and on April 1, 2024 will receive a partial refund (A $45.00 cancellation penalty will be retained which covers administrative charges and the College Board cancellation penalty fee.) No exchange or re-selling of tests. To cancel your exam send an email to cancel@aptsusa.com by the deadlines above and include your name, student ID number, school you attend, and name of the exam you want to cancel. No shows on exam day are not eligible for any refund. No refunds will be issued after April 1, 2024.
5. Exams Day Information: Specific locations and information will be communicated by the school closer to the exam period.
It is the student/parent responsibility to plan for and arrive on time for check in and exam start times.
6. Check in for morning exams will be promptly at 7:45 a.m. and 12:01 p.m. for afternoon exams. Students are expected on time. Morning exam administration will begin at 8 a.m. and afternoon exams will begin at 12:15 p.m. Students who report after exam administration begins will not be admitted and will not have a make-up opportunity. No exceptions. Exams will take on average 4 hours. Please notify your coaches of AP® Test dates and times and plan accordingly. Students will not be allowed to leave the test early.
7. Students must bring their school picture ID cards, two #2 pencils, pens, erasers, and calculators (if applicable – see AP® Security Rules for approved types) with fresh batteries to the AP® test room. Without picture ID a student WILL NOT be admitted. CELL PHONES, BACKPACKS, PURSES OR BAGS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN TESTING CENTERS. We recommend those are left at home or in your vehicle.
8. Students must adhere to the Test Site Regulations for the duration of the exam period. Consequences include removal from exam and cancellation of scores. See Test Site Regulations for specific details.
