Deadlines and Procedures
Step 1: Activate Exam – Students must JOIN their AP® Class accounts on the MyAP Site at https://myap.collegeboard.org (regardless of whether or not they will be taking the AP® Exam! This site will provide students with class AND exam preparation resources.) To access the site, create or use a College Board Profile. (See FAQs for more details.) Complete this step by October 25, 2021.
Step 2: Submit Exam Fee Deposit – To indicate intention and commitment to take an AP® exam in the May 2022 AP® Exam administration, a $40 per exam non-refundable deposit is due by October 29, 2021. Click below to submit the deposit.
Step 3: Submit balance due – Starting on December 1, students who committed to an exam by paying the deposit will receive a personalized invoice for the balance of fees due via email. Balance due paid in full by March 1, 2022.

General Policies and Information:
1. The cost of each AP® Exam is $96.00 each. A non-refundable deposit of $40 is due by October 29, 2021 to initiate the exam ordering process. On December 1, an invoice for the balance due will be emailed out to the parent email address provided on the deposit form, the balance due must be submitted by March 1, 2022.
Late deposit submission is possible between October 30 and November 5 but with a penalty of $40 per exam (rendering the deposit amount to $80, and the total exam fee to $136.)
No exam orders will be able to be accepted after November 5, 2021, midnight CST.
Note: West High School will administer exams ONLY to students currently enrolled in West HS.
2. Students selecting to take an AP® Exam must also activate their exam on The College Board’s new MyAP system by October 25, 2021. To activate the exam students must:
– Obtain an AP® Class/Group Join Code from their WHS AP® subject teacher
– Log into MyAP at http://myap.collegeboard.org with their College Board Profile (See FAQs) and apply the Join Code
– Note that many students will complete this step in class within the first few days of school.
3. To initiate an AP® Exam order successfully, students MUST submit a deposit AND complete the Join step on MyAP. To complete the exam order process, the balance due must be submitted by March 1, 2022. Any student who has a balance due outstanding by March 2, 2022 will have their exam order cancelled and will forfeit their non-refundable deposit.
4. Deposit and balance due payments for exams may be done via credit card or debit card, OR by mailing in a check or money order. There will be an online payment fee of 3.1% for payments submitted by credit or debit card. Directions for payment can be found at the end of the online registration form and in your e-mail confirmation which will be sent to the parent email address you provide on the registration form. Postmark deadline to ensure timely mail in deposit processing is October 26, 2021.
5. Fee reduction/assistance – Fee reductions are possible for qualified students. If you feel you may qualify for a fee reduction, please submit the AP® Fee Waiver Application Form (Linked here) to Ms. Rawlings in the counseling office. Once eligibility has been confirmed, you will be provided with a Fee Reduction Code that will reduce the balance due of the exam(s) deposit to the appropriate amount.
6. Exam Locations: Exam Locations will be announced closer to the exam date. Exams may be off campus so all students registered for AP Exams must complete the Off Campus Permission form (linked HERE) and submit it to the Student Services office by April 8, 2022.
7. Refunds: No cancellations or refunds are possible.
8. College and universities with AP® Credit Policies can be found on the College Board’s website AP® Credit Search site – It is the student’s responsibility to verify that the college they plan to attend will accept AP® credit and submit scores to their university/college of choice.
Please keep in mind that many colleges will aware credit for AP® Test scores of 3 or higher. West High School therefore recommends that you participate in taking the exam(s). Current school board policy states that you must take the exam in order to earn additional points on the final student grade point average. You will have the option of sending scores to colleges you may want to attend.
