Utica Community Schools AP® Exam Registration

Students and families enrolled in the schools of Utica Community Schools can review information here regarding the 2023-2024 Advanced Placement (AP^®) Exam Fee Submission Process.

Deadline to join MyAP and Register: September 22, 2023

Payment Deadline for Deposit: October 31, 2023

1.The cost per exam is $102 per exam for a standard exam ($150 for AP^® Capstone: Seminar or Research).

Payment will be submitted in two parts: A deposit of $40 per exam due is by October 31, 2023, with the balance of fees due by February 16, 2024*
- For courses that COMMENCE in the Spring semester, invoices for the full fees will be issued January 20 and will be due paid in full by February 16, 2024.
- The cost per exam for students who are eligible for the Free-Reduced Lunch program is still PENDING from the state. Fee Reduction eligible students will still be required to submit the $40 per exam deposit. When it is confirmed the student has taken the exam, the student will receive a $TBD refund per exam automatically (in June.)
- NO Payments will be processed/accepted between November 1 and November 15. See below for late ordering information. Late ordering will be possible beginning November 16, 2023.

2. Submitting your AP^® Exam Deposit in the Fall:

All students with exams active and joined on the AP^® Classroom dashboard on The College Board MyAP system (http://myap.collegeboard.org) by September 22 will receive on or around October 1, 2023 a personalized invoice for their exam deposits of $40 per exam.

- The invoice will be emailed to the parent‘s email address and copied to the student’s UCS email address.
- The deposit payment must by submitted by October 31, 2023*
- Payment can be submitted online with a debit or credit card by clicking the “Pay Now” button in the invoice email (a 3.1% credit/debit card processing fee will be added automatically for online payments.)
- Payment can also be submitted by mailing in a check or money order. Instructions and details are listed on the emailed invoice. Postmark deadline to ensure timely processing for the mail-in deposit payment is October 25, 2023.
- NO Payments will be processed/accepted between November 1 and November 15. See below for late ordering information. Late ordering will be possible beginning November 16, 2023.

⇒ Exams active in the College Board MyAP system without a corresponding deposit payment submitted by end of day on October 31, 2023 will not be ordered from College Board and will be deactivated in the MyAP system.* Reactivation (or late ordering) will incur a $40 per exam penalty fee. (See below for late ordering information.)

3. Submitting your remaining AP^® exam fee balance by February 16, 2024:

Students who successfully submitted a deposit in the Fall will receive on or around January 20, 2024 a personalized Spring invoice for their applicable exam balance due.*

- The invoice will be emailed to the parent‘s email and copied to the student’s UCS email.
- The invoice will automatically adjust the balance due to show fee reductions based on Free-Reduced Lunch eligibility.
- The payment must by submitted in full by February 16, 2024.
- Payment can be submitted online with a debit or credit card by clicking the “Pay Now” button in the invoice email (a 3.1% credit/debit card processing fee will be added automatically for online payments.)
- Balance payment can also be submitted by mailing in a check or money order. Instructions and details are listed on the emailed invoice. Postmark deadline to ensure timely processing for the mail-in balance payments is February 12, 2024.
- * Students enrolled in the SPRING/Second semester AP^® Macroeconomics or AP^® Microeconomics courses will not be able to join the College Board MyAP system until that course commences in the Spring. These students and only these students will be invoiced the $100 exam fee starting on or around January 20, 2024. (The Spring course’s exam will be included in your invoice for any applicable balance for any other exams from the Fall courses.) Only AP^® Macroeconomics and AP^® Microeconomics which commence in the Spring will be eligible for no penalty fees between January 20 and February 16. 2024.

4. Adding an exam: Students who would like to add an exam after they receive their invoice may do so by contacting their school site AP^® Coordinator (see contact details below) and obtaining the Join Code to add the test to their MyAP account. Once the exam has been added in the MyAP system, an updated invoice will be issued. Activations/adds after November 15, 2023 will incur a $40 per exam late add fee. No exams will be added after February 16, 2024. See below for more info on late ordering.

5. Fee Reductions: The cost per exam for students who are eligible for the Free-Reduced Lunch program is reduced to $5 per exam. Fee Reduction eligible students will still be required to submit the $40 per exam deposit. When it is confirmed the student has taken the exam, the student will receive a $35 refund per exam automatically (in June.) If a student’s status changes to Free-Reduced or if the exam price reduction is not applied to your Spring invoice, please contact your school site AP Coordinator to request an update of your status on the College Board MyAP system. (See below for contact information for your campus.)

6. Cancellations/Exam Changes:

Students who have an active exam on their MyAP account and who have decided to not take the exam, can have the exam removed from their deposit invoice BEFORE October 31, 2023 by emailing the APTS Cancellation Desk at cancel@aptsusa.com
- Include in the email the student invoice number
- Include in the email the student name
- Include in the email the title of the exam to remove from the invoice
- The exam will be removed and a new invoice issued for payment.

Students who have already submitted exam deposits and decide BEFORE 11:59pm PST on November 10, 2023 to not sit for the exam may cancel and request a partial refund of the applicable exam fees (Applicable credit and debit card fees are non-refundable).
- A $2.40 processing fee will be forfeited for refunds processed before November 10.
- Cancel by emailing the APTS Cancellation Desk at cancel@aptsusa.com
  - Include in the email the student invoice number
  - Include in the email the student name
  - Include in the email the title of the exam to remove from the invoice
  - The exam will be removed and a new invoice issued for payment.

Students who have already submitted exam fees and decide to not sit for the exam may cancel and request a partial refund of the applicable exam fees between November 11, 2023 through 11:59pm PST on March 31, 2024. (Applicable credit card or debit card fees are non-refundable).
- A $40 per exam College Board cancellation penalty fee and a $4.60 processing fee will be forfeited for cancellations after November 16.

  - Include in the email the student invoice number
  - Include in the email the student name
  - Include in the email the title of the exam to remove from the invoice

Exam cancellations after March 31, 2024 and no shows on the day of the exam will not be issued a refund.

7. What if you did not receive your invoice? Email info@aptsusa.com and include your name, name of your school, and request your invoice to be re-issued.

8. Late Ordering:

Exams that do not have a payment on file by end of day on October 31, 2023* will not be ordering from The College Board and will be deactivated in the MyAP system.

Reactivating or late registration will be possible from November 16, 2023 until February 16, 2024 with a penalty fee of $40 per exam. (This does not apply to exams corresponding to courses that COMMENCE in the Spring.)

Upon approval, a Late Order Invoice will be issued to you at the STUDENT email address on file or combined with your active invoice for your original balance due. Once payment has been submitted, your school AP Coordinator will be alerted by APTS to update your exam’s status on MyAP.

No late orders are possible after February 16, 2024.

* Students enrolled in the SPRING/Second semester AP^® Macroeconomics or AP^® Microeconomics courses will not be able to join the College Board MyAP system until that course commences in the Spring. These students and only these students will be invoiced the $100 exam fee starting on or around January 20, 2023. (The Spring course’s exam will be included in your invoice for any applicable balance for any other exams from the Fall courses.) Only AP^® Macroeconomics and AP^® Microeconomics which commence in the Spring will be eligible for no penalty fees between January 20 and February 17, 2023.
