How do I place an AP® exam order?
STEP 1: Activate your AP Exam on MyAP – STEP HAS BEEN COMPLETED IN CLASS WITH YOUR TEACHER IN SEPTEMBER. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: All students will log into their College Board profiles via the new College Board MyAP system at http://myap.collegeboard.org and JOIN the online equivalent for the AP® Courses with a Join Code (Access Code.)
College Board profiles are the same accounts used to order SAT® exams or to collect PSAT/NMSQT® or AP® Exam scores from prior years. If a student does not yet have such an account, they will need to create one (See tips below for profiles).
Make sure you know your College Board profile log in details since you will access the MyAP account frequently in class and at home.
Join Codes will be distributed in class by White Stations HS AP® teachers the first week of September. Join Codes are subject and teacher specific. (Students taking more than one AP® Course/Exam will repeat the step as needed.)
Once joined, students will be prompted to complete the online MyAP Registration Profile. (Students who have completed the profile for SAT® exams or other exams should review the information to ensure accuracy. See tips below.)
Deadline to Activate your exam is September 3, 2021.
STEP 2: Submit exam fees – Exam fees are $98 per exam ($146 per Capstone Exam) and will be submitted in two phases:
a) All students with an active exam on MyAP will receive on or around September 13, 2021 a customized digital invoice via via email for a $40 non-refundable deposit PER Exam.
Invoices will be emailed to the student email address linked to the College Board profile.
Deadline to submit the $40 non-refundable deposit is October 22, 2021
b) An updated invoice for the balance due of exam fees will be issued on January 17, 2022.
Like the deposit invoice issued in October, this invoice will be customized and personalized and will be sent to the student email address linked to their College Board profiles.
Full balance paid in full due by March 4, 2022.
⇒ Exams with an unpaid balance as of end of day on March 4, 2022 will be deactivated on MyAP and the deposit fee forfeited. It is not possible to reactivate exams.
Tips for setting up your College Board Profile on MyAP:
– Use an email address that you will have access to throughout high school AND university, and that you check frequently so that you do not miss important alerts or messages from APTS or from College Board.
– Make sure to enter your COMPLETE legal name to prevent issues with sending score reports to colleges and universities
– Enter your school student ID number to assist your school in reporting your attendance to the exam to your school AND help identify errors in names.
I can’t access my College Board Profile account or am not sure I have one. What do I do?
The College Board Profile is the same account used to access your past years’ AP® scores, PSAT® scores, and SAT® scores. Do not create a new one! Each student should have only ONE unique account. If you are unable to access the account, try using the ‘Forget Password?’ link on http://myap.collegeboard.org OR email email@example.com OR call 888-225-5427 for assistance.
Where do I get the Join Code to complete the join step on the MyAP site?
Join Codes are subject, teacher, and period specific. Please see your AP® teacher ASAP to complete the step by September 3, 2021.
What if I miss the October deadline to submit a deposit?
To enable your school coordinator to forward the exam order to College Board, it is required to initiate your exam order by activating your exam on MyAP AND to submit the $40 deposit per exam by October 22, 2021. No exam order can be initiated after October 22, 2021. It is therefore CRUCIAL to meet the deadline.
I haven’t received my invoice ?
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance – include in the email your name, name of your school, and your request for your invoice to be reissued. (Note that the invoices for the deposit due are emailed to the STUDENT email address provided on the College Board profile. Balance due invoices will be emailed out on January 17, 2022.)
I missed the March 4 deadline to submit my balance due? What do I do?
It is crucial to meet the March 4 deadline. Failure to submit the balance due by March 4, 2022 means that the exam order will be deactivated, the deposit forfeited, and the student will not be able to sit for the exam. Please be timely with your balance payment.
How do I submit the exam fees?
You will receive an invoice via email with a Pay Now button in the emial. Deposit and Payment for exams may be done via credit card or debit card, OR by mailing in a check or money order. There will be an online payment fee of 3.1% for payments submitted by credit or debit card. Directions for payment can be found at the end of the online deposit form and in your e-mail confirmation which will be sent to the email address you provide on the registration form. Postmark deadline to ensure timely mail in deposit processing is October 18, 2021.
Invoices for the balance due will be emailed out to the parent email address provided on the deposit form. Invoices will have the same payment options as above. Postmark deadline for timely submission of your balance due is March 1, 2022.
Can I cancel my exam?
Per State and Local policy, if the student does not take the AP® exam that corresponds to the course in which they are enrolled, the 5 additional percentage points added to each quarter grade and each semester exam will be removed. The quality points will be removed from your GPA.
No exam cancellations or refunds will be processed October 22, 2021
Can I change when I take the exam?
Exam times are set by The College Board. Note that AP® Exams must be taken only at the times established by The College Board. Exams administered at White Station High School will be at the following dates and times set by The College Board. See the calendar at the link below.
Is there financial aid available for the 2022 AP® exams?
Fee reductions are available to eligible students, but must be applied for as quickly as possible to meet the exam activation deadline. To apply for a fee reduction, contact Ms. Fleming in Guidance. Students who qualify for a fee reduction will receive an adjusted invoice in January, if applicable.
What do I need to bring to the exam room?
Please bring the following to your AP® exam: at least 2 sharpened #2 pencils, erasers, at least 2 pens with black or dark blue ink, and calculator (if applicable-see AP® Security Rules for approved types) with fresh and extra batteries. Snacks and water will be provided during the testing break.
What may I NOT bring to the exam room?
Cell phones, Smartwatches, iPods, MP3 players, books, written materials, study guides, etc. are not permitted in the testing room. They will be taken up if brought into the testing room and returned after testing is complete.
How do I receive my scores?
By completing the exam activation process on the MyAP site, you will be issued a unique AP ID number. Scores are usually available in early July by using the AP ID and your College Board log in to retrieve scores at http://apscores.org
