AP Exam FAQs
Registration Deadline: November 4, 2022
LATE registration deadline: March 3, 2023
How do I place an AP® exam order?
STEP 1: Activate your AP Exam on MyAP – Students should have activated their exam on the College Board MyAP system at http://myap.collegeboard.
In case a student has not completed this step with their teacher: All students will log into their College Board profiles via the College Board MyAP system at http://myap.collegeboard.org and JOIN the online equivalent for the AP® Courses with a Join Code (Access Code.)
College Board profiles are the same accounts used to order SAT® exams or to collect PSAT/NMSQT® or AP® Exam scores from prior years. If a student does not yet have such an account, they will need to create one (See tips below for profiles).
Make sure you know your College Board profile log in details since you will access the MyAP account frequently in class and at home.
Join Codes will be distributed in class by AP® teachers. Join Codes are subject and teacher specific. (Students taking more than one AP® Course/Exam will repeat the step as needed.)
Once joined, students will be prompted to complete the online MyAP Registration Profile. (Students who have completed the profile for SAT® exams or other exams should review the information to ensure accuracy. See tips below.)
Deadline to Activate your exam without penalty fee is November 4, 2022.
STEP 2: Submit exam fees – Exam fees are $100 per exam ($150 per Capstone Exam). Click on the link below to submit the fees. Deadline to submit exam fees is November 4, 2022.
All exams must be prepaid via the online payment form (at link below), which accepts credit card payments as well as debit cards. To submit an order using check or money order, please complete the payment form online and follow the directions to mail your payment to the address on your confirmation email. There is no service fee for submitting registration and payment with a check or money order via U.S. mail. Deadline to postmark mailed payments is October 31, 2022.
Any active exams on MyAP that do not have a corresponding payment submitted by November 5, 2022 will be deactivated. Re-activation will qualify as a late registration and will incur a penalty fee.
Late registration will run from November 16 through March 3, 2023 and will incur a $50 penalty fee. Late payments will be accepted ONLY online. No orders will be accepted after March 3, 2023.
BOTH payment submission AND exam activation MUST be completed for an exam order to be fully processed.
Tips for setting up your College Board Profile on MyAP:
– Use an email address that you will have access to throughout high school AND university, and that you check frequently so that you do not miss important alerts or messages from APTS or from College Board.
– Make sure to enter your COMPLETE legal name to prevent issues with sending score reports to colleges and universities
– Navigate to the ‘Send Scores’ section of your MyAP Profile to request copies of your AP® Exam score reports to be sent to colleges and universities. Score reports are sent out in July after the exams. Each student receives one free score report from College Board. Deadline to submit the Score Send request and qualify for the free service is June 15. Requests submitted after June 15 will incur a fee from College Board.
I can’t access my College Board Profile account or am not sure I have one. What do I do?
The College Board Profile is the same account used to access your past years’ AP® scores, PSAT® scores, and SAT® scores.
Do not create a new one!
Each student should have only ONE unique account. If you are unable to access the account, try using the ‘Forget Password?’ link on http://myap.collegeboard.org OR email apstudents@info.collegeboard.org OR call 888-225-5427 for assistance.
Where do I get the Join Code to complete the join step on the MyAP site?
Join Codes are subject, teacher, and period specific. Please see your AP® teacher ASAP to complete the step by November 4, 2022 and avoid penalty fees.
What if I miss the November deadline to submit a payment?

How do I submit the exam fees?
