NEW AP® EXAM REGISTRATION DEADLINES AND PROCEDURES FOR 2019-2020:

STEP 1Submit Exam Fees – To indicate intention and commitment to take the optional AP® exam that corresponds to your SCHS AP® Course in the May 2020 AP® Exam administration, submit exam fees between September 16 and October 20, 2019 via the link below.

STEP 2: Activate your exam on The College Board MyAP websiteStudents must JOIN their AP® Exam Groups on the MyAP Site at https://myap.collegeboard.org to activate the exam order and complete the process. To access the site, create or use a College Board Profile. (See below or the FAQs for more details.)

AP® Exam Registration Regulations and Policies:

1.     The cost of each test will be $114. Registration runs from September 16 through October 20, 2019.  A late fee will be added to the exam fee if registering between October 21 and November 3, 2019.

2. To submit an exam order:

Payment is submitted via the APTS Payment Form either using debit or credit card or by mailing in a check or money order to APTS. Instructions are provided on the payment form. Postmark deadline to ensure timely processing of mail in payments is October 16, 2019.

STEP 2: Activate your exam on The College Board MyAP website – Students must JOIN their AP® Exam Groups on the MyAP Site at https://myap.collegeboard.org to activate the exam order and complete the process. To access the site, create or use a College Board Profile. (See FAQs)

College Board Profiles are the same profiles/accounts students have used to collect SAT®, PSAT/NMSQT® and past AP® scores. Students will log into MyAP using their College Board Profiles and JOIN each of the online AP® Exam Groups that correspond to their AP® Courses being taken at SCHS. Students will require a Join Code to join the exam group – Join Codes will be distributed by SCHS AP® Course teachers in mid-September.

All students are encourage to complete the Join step on MyAP to enable access to the FREE College Board resources available on the site for use in class. Students choosing to take the optional AP® Exam must complete the Join step on MyAP as well as submit AP® Exam fees.

⇒ Failure to complete BOTH steps, fee payment AND the Join Step, before November 3, 2019 will mean that the exam order is incomplete and the AP® Coordinator will not be able to submit the exam order to College Board. Payments that were submitted without the completion of the Join Step by November 3, 2019 will automatically be refunded.

There will be no late registration and no stand-by testing.

2. Fee reductions are available but must be applied for by October 17 to ensure meeting the registration deadline. Approval may take several days. To apply for a fee reduction, contact Mrs. Vicki Ruby, Registrar. Additional support can be received by emailing us at info@aptsusa.com.

3. Special Accommodations information can be obtained from your special education case manager or counselor. Applications must be submitted in advance for approval from College Board. Deadline to submit an application to College Board is January 17, 2020.

4. Students who order and pay for an exam but decide to cancel with written notification before November 3, 2019 will receive a 100% refund. Cancellation requests submitted after November 3, 2019 and before April 20, 2020, will receive a partial refund. A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 will be retained for all exams that are ordered and then cancelled between November 3, 2019 and April 20, 2020. No exchange or re-selling of tests. To cancel your exam send an email to cancel@aptsusa.com no later than midnight PST on April 20, and include your name, student ID number, school you attend, and name of the exam you want to cancel. No shows are not eligible for any refund.

5. Exams administration will take place on campus. Specific locations and information will be communicated by the school closer to the exam period.

It is the student/parent responsibility to plan for and arrive on time for check in and exam start times.

6. Check in for morning exams will be promptly at 7:45 a.m. and 12:01 p.m. for afternoon exams. Students are expected on time. Morning exam administration will begin at 8 a.m. and afternoon exams will begin at 12:15 p.m. Students who report after exam administration begins will not be admitted and will not have a make-up opportunity.  No exceptions.  Exams will take on average 4 hours.  Please notify your coaches of AP® Test dates and times and plan accordingly.  Students will not be allowed to leave the test early. 

7. Students must bring their school picture ID cards, two #2 pencils, pens, erasers, and calculators (if applicable – see AP® Security Rules for approved types) with fresh batteries to the AP® test room. Without picture ID a student WILL NOT be admitted. CELL PHONES, BACKPACKS, PURSES OR BAGS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN TESTING CENTERS. We recommend those are left at home or in your vehicle.

8.     Students must adhere to the Test Site Regulations for the duration of the exam period. Consequences include removal from exam and cancellation of scores.  See Test Site Regulations for specific details.
