How do I order exams?

STEP 1Submit Exam Fees – To indicate intention and commitment to take the optional AP® exam that corresponds to your SCHS AP® Course in the May 2020 AP® Exam administration, submit exam fees between September 16 and October 20, 2019 via Submit AP® Exam Payment

Payment is submitted via the APTS Payment Form either using debit or credit card or by mailing in a check or money order to APTS. Instructions are provided on the payment form. Postmark deadline to ensure timely processing of mail in payments is October 16, 2019.

STEP 2: Activate your exam on The College Board MyAP websiteStudents must JOIN their AP® Exam Groups on the MyAP Site at https://myap.collegeboard.org to activate the exam order and complete the process. To access the site, create or use a College Board Profile. (See FAQs)

College Board Profiles are the same profiles/accounts students have used to collect SAT®, PSAT® and past AP® scores. Students will log into MyAP using their College Board Profiles and JOIN each of the online AP® Exam Groups that correspond to their AP® Courses being taken at SCHS. Students will require a Join Code to join the exam group – Join Codes will be distributed by SCHS AP® Course teachers in mid-September.

All students are encourage to complete the Join step on MyAP to enable access to the FREE College Board resources available on the site for use in class. Students choosing to take the optional AP® Exam must complete the Join step on MyAP as well as submit AP® Exam fees.

⇒ Failure to complete BOTH steps, fee payment AND the Join Step, before November 3, 2019 will mean that the exam order is incomplete and the AP® Coordinator will not be able to submit the exam order to College Board. Payments that were submitted without the completion of the Join Step by November 3, 2019 will automatically be refunded.

There will be no late registration and no stand-by testing.

Why are there now multiple steps for registration?

The College Board has launched this new system nationwide in August 2019 for May 2020 AP® Exams.

What are the benefits of the new system that College Board is using?

The online Exam Group JOIN component will allow College Board to personalize student exam materials for exam day. This will mean no longer having to bubble onto a scantron crucial details like name, ID number and email address. AND it will mean faster and more accurate results to your colleges and universities! In addition, students will be able to access homework and test assignments from their AP® Teachers that will include secure questions from the College Board AP® Question Bank. Students will also have access to review materials and resources.

Where do I get my Join Code from?

Join Codes will be issued by your SCHS AP® Course teachers in mid-September. Join Codes are subject, teacher and period specific so you will need a Join Code for EACH AP® Course you are taking.

What if I can’t log into my College Board profile or can’t remember if I have one?

Students create College Board profiles to access their AP®, PSAT® and SAT® scores or to register for a SAT® or SAT® 2 Exam. You may already have an account if you have taken any of these exams in the past.

Don’t create a second account!

Each student should have only ONE College Board account during their high school careers which houses AP®, PSAT® and SAT® scores and information. For log in help visit: https://pages.collegeboard.org/account-help or https://myap.collegeboard.org

Which information should I provide on my College Board MyAP Registration Profile?

Students should use their legal name (to match school records), so that the name will also match the student’s School ID or driver’s license at exam check in. College Board also sends scores electronically to colleges/universities. A discrepancy in name can result in score reporting issues and delays. To update a name or correct a name, contact College Board at 1-866-630-9305.

Students should use an email address that they will have access to BEYOND high school and where they can receive alerts from College Board or APTS.

Students should provide a student ID number on the registration profile – this will enable easier attendance reporting to the Sage Creek HS attendance office on exam day as well as enable identification of any errors in student name (for example, nicknames versus legal names.)

College Board does not collect Social Security numbers, so your account is identified as unique based on your email address, School Student ID number, and name. Be consistent in how you enter information!

What if I qualify for Free-Reduced Lunch or other Fee Reductions?

Fee reductions are available but must be applied for by October 17 to ensure meeting the registration deadline. Approval may take several days. To apply for a fee reduction, contact Mrs. Vicki Ruby, Registrar. Additional support can be received by emailing us at info@aptsusa.com.

Where do I get an admission ticket?

Students do not need admission tickets to enter the AP Exam testing rooms. However, each student does need a CURRENT picture id, such as a school ID or a driver’s license. Without current picture ID students will not be allowed to enter the room.

What may I bring with me to the exam room?

Students may not bring into the exam room any type of backpack or bag, including purses. No study guides or materials are allowed. No cell phones or electronic communication devices are allowed. No iPods or MP3 players are allowed. No highlighters are allowed. Students may not bring bottled water/drinks or food to the testing room. (See Test Site Regulations for more information.) Students MUST bring a current picture ID, pencils, pens in blue or black ink, and a calculator if applicable.

How do I figure out where my exam will be administered?

Information on testing rooms will be communicated directly by your school closer to the exam period.

It is the student/parent responsibility to plan for and arrive on time for check in and exam start times.

When do I need to report to the testing room?

For morning exams, students need to report to the testing room at 7:45 am. For afternoon exams students need to report to the testing room at 12:01 pm. Students must be on time for check in. Testing for morning exams will begin at 8 am and testing for afternoon exams will begin at 12:15 pm . Per College Board Regulations, students will not be admitted to the room once the exam has begun. Late arrivals who are not admitted to the room are considered ‘no shows’ and are not eligible for the partial refund or for make-up of the exam.

How do I know when the exam is? How do I know how long the exam is?

The AP® Exam calendar is posted on the Calendar on this website. Exams are either Morning (7:45 a.m. check-in) exams or Afternoon (Noon (12:00 p.m. check-in) exams. On average, exams last 4 hours. Students should notify coaches, parents, etc. accordingly since no early dismissal is possible from the exam.

Do I need to excuse my absence from school during the exam?

Your school will receive a copy of an attendance roster from the exam so you will automatically be excused for the class periods that are affected by the testing. You are not excused for the entire day. You must follow your school site’s protocol for checking back in when returning to campus (i.e. checking in with Attendance to get a pass.) You are responsible for all school work missed during your absence for AP® Exams.

What if I have more than one exam scheduled for the same day and same time? What if I have two exams scheduled on the same day?

College Board makes provisions for students who would like to register to take two exams that are scheduled at the EXACT same time and date. Please email info@aptsusa.com to get information on late testing locations and information. Unfortunately, you would not be eligible for late testing if you are taking two exams back to back (i.e. one in the morning and one in the afternoon).

What if I decide to not take an exam? Can I get a refund?

Students who order and pay for an exam but decide to cancel with written notification before November 3, 2019 will receive a 100% refund. Cancellation requests submitted after November 3, 2019 and before April 20, 2020, will receive a partial refund. A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 will be retained for all exams that are ordered and then cancelled between November 3, 2019 and April 20, 2020. No exchange or re-selling of tests. To cancel your exam send an email to cancel@aptsusa.com no later than midnight PST on April 20, and include your name, student ID number, school you attend, and name of the exam you want to cancel. No shows are not eligible for any refund.

What if I finish the exam early? Can I leave early?

Per College Board’s security regulations for exams, students may not leave the test until time is called and all examinees are excused together. If a student leaves without permission, their exam will be collected and submitted separately to College Board. Their score will be cancelled and no refund will be possible. Exams are approximately 4 hours. Please be prepared for the duration of the exam.

What if I get sick and can’t make the exam?

There are provisions for students who become sick or injured during or right before testing. In case of such an emergency, please contact your school AP Coordinator IMMEDIATELY, and email info@aptsusa.com or call the emergency assistance line at 855-663-8348 . A doctor’s note may be requested.

How do I get my scores?
