How do I place an AP® exam order?
STEP 1: Activate your exam – Log into the College Board MyAP site at http://myap.collegeboard.org using your College Board profile and apply the ‘Join Code’ (access code) you receive from your teacher.
If you have never created a College Board account, create one by clicking on ‘Create Account’ on http://myap.collegeboard.org
You will use this College Board profiles account in high school to order AP and SAT® exams, or to collect PSAT/NMSQT® or AP® Exam scores. Do not create a new account if you already have one (see below for tips.)
Students will obtain a Join Code (access code) from their AP® Teachers. Join Codes for the MyAP Site are subject, teacher and class period specific.
Once the student has joined the online AP® Class group, they will be prompted to complete the MyAP Registration Profile pages.
Deadline to complete the Join Code step: November 6, 2020.
STEP 2: Submit exam fees – Click on “Submit fees for AP Exams” below and submit your fees.
Payment for exams may be done via credit card or debit card, OR by mailing in a check or money order. There will be an online payment fee of 3% for payments submitted by credit or debit card. Directions for payment can be found at the end of the online registration form and in your e-mail confirmation which will be sent to the parent email address you provide on the registration form.
Both Step 1 and 2 must be completed by November 6, 2020 to activate the exam order. Failure to complete both steps 1 and 2 by November 6, 2020 means the AP Coordinator for your school cannot submit an exam order to College Board.
Tips for setting up your College Board Profile on MyAP:
– Use an email address that you will have access to throughout high school AND university and that is checked frequently,
– Make sure to enter your COMPLETE legal name to prevent issues with sending score reports to colleges and universities. Double check that it’s YOUR name on the account – it may sound silly, but out of habit a parent may have entered their own name, or even autofill may have entered a name for you that is not correct and will delay your score reporting to Colleges and Universities.
– Enter your School ID in to ensure accurate attendance reporting to your school on exam day
I can’t access my College Board Profile account or am not sure I have one. What do I do?
Each student should have only ONE unique account. If you are unable to access the account, try using the ‘Forget Password?’ link on http://myap.collegeboard.org OR email apstudents@info.collegeboard.org OR call 888-225-5427 for assistance.
Where do I get the Join Code to complete the join step on the MyAP site?
Join Codes are subject, teacher, and period specific. Please see your AP® teacher ASAP to complete the step.
What if I miss the November 6 deadline to submit fees?
It is CRUCIAL to meet the deadline. NO orders will be accepted after November 6, 2020.
How do I submit the exam fees?
Payment for exams may be done via credit card or debit card, OR by mailing in a check or money order. There will be an online payment fee of 3% for payments submitted by credit or debit card. Directions for payment can be found at the end of the online deposit form and in your e-mail confirmation which will be sent to the email address you provide on the registration form. Postmark deadline to ensure timely mail in deposit processing is November 2, 2020.
Where do I get an admission ticket?
Students do not need admission tickets to enter the AP® Exam testing facilities. However, each student does need a CURRENT picture id, such as a CURRENT school ID or a driver’s license. Without picture ID students will not be allowed to enter the room.
What may I bring with me to the exam room?
Students MUST bring a current picture ID, at least two #2 pencils, pens in blue or black ink, and a calculator if applicable. No cell phones or electronic communication devices are allowed. No iPods or MP3 players are allowed. No highlighters are allowed. Students may bring backpacks, purses, or bags to the testing room, but will be directed to place those items in a specific location inside the exam location. Water is the only liquid which may be brought inside the exam room. Snack items brought to the testing room must be stored in clear plastic bags.
When do I need to report to the testing room?
Exams will be held in the library. For the AP® Spanish Language exam on May 11, 2021 students need to report to the exam room at 7:30am. For the AP® French Language exam on May 10, 2021 students need to report to the exam room at 7:30am. Specific exam room information will be available closer to the test date. Students MUST be on time for check in since there is identification information that must be completed before testing can begin which adds additional time to the testing time. For security reasons, students will not be admitted to the room once the exam materials have been opened. Late arrivals who are not admitted to the room are considered ‘no shows’ and are not eligible for any refund.
Do I need to excuse my absence from school during the exam?
You will automatically be excused for the class periods that are affected by the testing. Students will be excused from the remainder of the school day once the exam is finished. Students and parents should make arrangements for transportation for that day.
What if I finish the exam early? Can I leave early?
Per College Board’s security regulations for exams, students may not leave the test until time is called and all examinees are excused together. If a student leaves without permission, their exam will be collected and submitted separately to College Board. Their score will be cancelled and no refund will be possible. Exams are approximately 4 hours. Please be prepared for the duration of the exam.
What if I get sick and can’t make the exam?
There are provisions for students who become sick or injured during or right before testing. In case of such an emergency, please contact Mr. Villareal immediately.
