How do I register for the 2024 AP® Exams?
- To register for an AP® Exam students must complete TWO steps:
1
Activate your AP® Exam on MyAP by joining your AP® Class with the Join Code from your teacher. Complete by the deadline
2
Submit exam fees by the deadline.
- The Fall AP® Exam Registration window opens October 1, 2023 and closes on October 31, 2023 for exams corresponding to courses that COMMENCE in the Fall.
- For exams corresponding to courses that COMMENCE in the Spring (Semester 2) registration is open from November 15, 2023 through March 1, 2024 with no penalty fee.
- It is possible to pre-submit an exam payment in the Fall for Exams corresponding to Semester 2 courses, however, you will not be able to complete the MyAP® Join Step on the College Board MyAP® website until your course officially begins. We recommend you submit the fees for the Spring course once that course commences.
- Late registration for exams corresponding to fall course commencement will incur a $40 per exam late fee (between November 15, 2023 and March 1, 2024) NO registrations or payment submissions are possible after March 1, 2024.
- An exam order will NOT be considered completed unless BOTH steps for registration have been completed. Any student who has not completed BOTH steps listed in Item 1 above by the applicable deadlines, will not have an exam ordered.

I can’t access my College Board Profile account. What do I do?

Can I change when I take the exam?
Exam times are set by The College Board.
Students who are experiencing significant illness on exam day and are unable to attend their exam need to notify the AP Coordinator (harwichm@holliston.k12.ma.us) within 24-hours of the originally scheduled exam start time in order to be eligible for consideration for a make up exam. Consideration will NOT be given after this 24-hour window.
What if I am sick on exam day?
Students who are experiencing significant illness on exam day and are unable to attend their exam need to notify the AP Coordinator (harwichm@holliston.k12.ma.us) within 24-hours of the originally scheduled exam start time in order to be eligible for consideration for a make up exam. Consideration will NOT be given after this 24-hour window.
What are unacceptable reasons for switching an exam to an make up exam date?
Having to get ready for prom, would prefer more time to study, have two tests on the same day but not the same time and worries about squeezing in lunch.
Is there financial aid available for the 2024 exams?
Yes. Students on the federal Free or Reduced Lunch Program qualify for a reduction of AP® exam fees. Families who are struggling financially but are not on free and reduced lunch may also receive assistance with exam fees. Holliston is committed to ensuring there are no financial barriers to a student taking an AP® exam. Families can contact APTS or see the Holliston HS AP® Coordinator for more information regarding fee reductions. If a student qualifies for a fee reduction, they will be provided with a code to enter into the exam payment form. To request a discount code, contact Mani Harwich at harwichm@holliston.k12.ma.us. HHS does not ask for justification or explanation of your request for financial assistance.
What if I have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or a 504 plan?
The College Board must approve any changes or modifications to the AP® exam administration. Students with a current IEP or 504 plan who wish to receive testing accommodations must contact their special education liaison (IEP) or guidance counselor (504) ASAP. The deadline to submit NEW applications for accommodations is January 18, 2024.
What may I bring with me into the exam room?
Students MUST bring their current student ID, number two pencils (mechanical pencils have the ability to tear the answer sheet and are therefore not permitted), erasers, pens with black or blue ink, and a calculator (if needed – calculator must be a College Board approved calculator – click HERE for a list of approved calculators.)
What should I NOT bring into the exam room?
-Cell phone, smartwatch, iPad, or any other digital device. If you are found to be in possession of any of these items, even if turned off, you will be dismissed from the exam. If a device is used at any point during testing or the breaks, or is not used but makes sound, the College Board requires that the exam proctor take the device and gain access to it for inspection (this policy is outlined HERE).
-Back packs.
-Highlighters.
Can I bring a snack and drink?
Yes. They must be in a clear plastic bag. They will be stored in a designated area of the room. Students will not be able to keep their snack/beverage with them at their testing table.
What if I finish the exam early? Can I leave early?
Per College Board’s security regulations for exams, students may not leave the test until time is called and ALL examinees are excused together. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. Please notify your team coach, employer, parent, etc. regarding the timing of the exam. Most exams take approximately 4 hours to complete.
This same policy applies to students testing with extended time. Students with extended time do not have to use all the extended time provided to them, but they must use the regular allotted exam time and cannot leave before the standard time has passed.
