All current 10th and 11th grade Bryan ISD students will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT® on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 and are automatically registered and do not need to register.

Homeschooled and private school students who would like to join Bryan ISD students on exam day, please review the information below to submit a registration.

1. Registration & Fees

Homeschooled students as well as private school students in grade 10 and 11 may register for the 2019 PSAT/NMSQT® exam beginning August 1 and ending on September 13, 2019, midnight CST.  The exam will be administered in Bryan ISD on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 during school hours. The cost for each exam is $17.00

All students who wish to join the Bryan ISD students must complete the online order/registration form at Order the PSAT/NMSQT® At the end of the form, payment will be submitted either online (using a credit or debit card), or by selecting Mail-in (for checks or money orders.) Online payments have a 3% processing fee automatically added. No additional processing fee is added for Mail-in payment submissions. Instructions on how to complete the payment process via mail-in will be emailed to the parent email address provided on the online registration form.

Fee reductions are possible based on student/household income eligibility guidelines set by College Board. To apply for a fee reduction, please see your school site’s testing coordinator. Eligible students will receive a fee reduction code to apply to the online registration form.

You will have an opportunity on the registration form to select the Bryan ISD school site where you would like to take the exam.

*Grade 10 and 11 students currently enrolled in Bryan ISD schools are automatically and do not need to register!

2. Why take the PSAT/NMSQT® exam?

The PSAT/NMSQT® (Preliminary SAT®/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a 2.5-hour version of the College Board’s SAT®. The PSAT® measures verbal, mathematical, and writing abilities important to success in university and provides practice for taking the SAT® later in grade 11. The PSAT® can be used to predict performance on the SAT®. The PSAT® is not used in US university admission; scores will be sent only to the student and to the school.

3. When are scores released?

PSAT® results are usually sent to schools in late December and then are released to students via College Board’s online system soon after.

4. Can I cancel my exam and receive a refund?

No. Cancellations and refunds of the exam fees is not possible.

5. How do I prepare for the exam?

College Board offers detailed information as well as preparation tools developed in partnership with The Khan Academy. Access Prep Tools

6. Where do I report for the exam?

When completing the online order form, you will have the opportunity to select the school or testing site that is most convenient for you.  Below is a list of the Bryan ISD campuses offering the PSAT/NMSQT®.

Students report to the school site that they selected as their host school on the online form and that is printed in their order summary. Check in time is 7:45am. All students should report to the school Front Desk for check in on the morning of the exam.
