All current 10th and 11th grade Bryan ISD students will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT® on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 and are automatically registered and do not need to register.
Homeschooled or private school students who would like to join Bryan ISD students on exam day, please review the information below to submit a registration.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: September 15, 2022
1. Registration & Fees
Homeschooled and private school students in grade 9, 10 and 11 may register for the 2022 PSAT/NMSQT® exam beginning September 2 and ending on September 15, 2022, midnight CST.
- Homeschooled students – please contact the school where you would like to test directly for assistance.
- Private school students – please contact the school where you would like to test directly for approval to test. If approved, you will receive a password to be able to access the order form at the link below.
The exam will be administered at James Rudder High School on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 during school hours.
The cost for each exam is $19
At the end of the order form, payment will be submitted either online (using a credit or debit card), or by selecting Mail-in (for checks or money orders.) Online payments have a 3.1% processing fee automatically added. No additional processing fee is added for Mail-in payment submissions. Instructions on how to complete the payment process via mail-in will be emailed to the parent email address provided on the online registration form.
Fee reductions are possible based on student/household income eligibility guidelines set by College Board. To apply for a fee reduction, please see your school site’s testing coordinator. Eligible students will receive a fee reduction code to apply to the online registration form.
You will have an opportunity on the registration form to select the Bryan ISD school site where you would like to take the exam.
*Grade 10 and 11 students currently enrolled in Bryan ISD schools are automatically and do not need to register!
2. Why take the PSAT/NMSQT® exam?
The PSAT/NMSQT® (Preliminary SAT®/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a 2.5-hour version of the College Board’s SAT®. The PSAT® measures verbal, mathematical, and writing abilities important to success in university and provides practice for taking the SAT® later in grade 11. The PSAT® can be used to predict performance on the SAT®. The PSAT® is not used in US university admission; scores will be sent only to the student and to the school.
3. When are scores released?
PSAT® results are usually sent to schools in late December and then are released to students via College Board’s online system soon after.
4. Can I cancel my exam and receive a refund?
No – Bryan ISD does not offer the option to cancel or request a refund.
5. How do I prepare for the exam?
College Board offers detailed information as well as preparation tools developed in partnership with The Khan Academy. Access Prep Tools
6. Where do I report for the exam?
When completing the online order form, you will have the opportunity to select the school or testing site that is most convenient for you. The exam is open for registration at Bryan High School and James Rudder High School.
Exam day details will be communicated by the host school when the exam date is closer.
