How can I earn college credit through AP?
If you take the AP exam at the end of the Spring semester, you can earn college credit by earning a score of a 3, 4, or 5 or the exam. To determine what score you will need at one school, use the College Board’s website: AP Credit Search
When is the deadline to register for a test?
The deadline to register for the 2019 tests will be on March 22th, 2019, midnight CST.
What happens if I miss the registration deadline?
Late registration will run from March 23 through April 17 for a $55 late fee (set by AP). No orders will be accepted after April 17.
How do I submit the exam fees?
Payment for exams may be done via credit card or debit card, OR by mailing in a check or money order. There will be an online payment fee of 3% for payments submitted by credit or debit card. Directions for payment can be found at the end of the online registration form and in your e-mail confirmation which will be sent to the parent email address you provide on the registration form. Postmark deadline to ensure timely mail in payment processing is March 18, 2019.
Is there fee assistance available?
Fee reduction/assistance – Fee reductions are possible for qualified students. If you feel you may qualify for a fee reduction, please submit the AP Fee Waiver Application Form (Linked here) to Ms. Mullinax in the counseling office. Once eligibility has been confirmed, you will be provided with a Fee Reduction Code that will reduce the price of the exam(s) on the registration form to the appropriate amount.
What happens if I change my mind about taking an AP test after I register?
Unfortunately, once the tests have been ordered, changes can not be made. No refunds are issued. Notify the school counseling office as soon as possible and we may be able to get another student to take your place.

Are the AP tests given at Bearden?
The AP Human Geography exam is proctored at Bearden. The rest of the exams are given off campus. Tentatively, the tests are scheduled to be given at King University at 10950 Spring Bluff Way, Knoxville, TN 37932. (Map to King University)
We must received a field trip form for all students testing off campus. Please download the form, complete it and return it to the BHS counseling office by March 22nd.

What happens if I do not show up to take my exam on the day of the test?
Certain circumstances allow for a student to take the exam on the late test day. However, most students that fail to show up but still want to take an exam on the late test day will be responsible for the $15 unused test fee, purchasing an additional test at $94, a late fee of $45 and covering the cost of a proctor.
How do I receive my scores?
During AP pre-administration sessions in April, you will receive an AP number and information on how to create a College Board account. Scores are usually available in July.
