Students and Families enrolled on Katy Independent School District (TX) can submit fees here for the 2027 AP® Exam Administration.

Deadlines and Procedures for May 2027 Exams:
STEP 1: Activate your exam – (Done usually in class by students during the first weeks of school) Log into the College Board MyAP site at http://myap.collegeboard.org using your College Board profile and apply the ‘Join Code’ (access code) you receive from your teacher for each of your AP subjects. (See FAQs for details). Activate the exam by Clicking “Register for Exam.” Deadline to activate your exam for courses corresponding to FALL is October 20, 2026. Deadline to activate your exam for courses corresponding to SPRING is February 16, 2027.
STEP 2: Submit exam DEPOSIT – Click on Submit AP® Exam Deposit and submit a $40 deposit.* For courses that start in the Fall, exam deposits are due by October 20, 2026. For courses that start in the Spring, exam fees are due by February 16, 2027.
*Step 1 and 2 can be done in either order!
STEP 3: Pay your BALANCE DUE by March 25 – Families will receive on December 1 a digital invoice via email from APTS for any applicable balance of fees due for exams ordered by October 20, 2026. Balance of fees must be paid in full by March 25, 2027 for all students to ensure eligibility to sit for the May 2027 exams.
REGISTRATION FOR MAY 2027 AP® EXAMS WILL RUN FROM:
- Fall and Yearlong Courses: September 1, 2026 through October 20, 2026 (Midnight CST)
- Spring Courses: January 5, 2027 through February 16, 2027 (Midnight CST)
1.The cost per exam is $103. ($40 deposit per exam due by October 20, 2026 and the balance due by March 25, 2027.)
Note: AP Computer Science Principles is covered by a grant and has no fee for students, but students MUST still select the exam on the deposit form to indicate intention of testing.
2. Exam registration for 2027 AP® exams requires three steps:
Step 1: Activation of your exam on the College Board MyAP site AND clicking ‘Register for Exam’ if visible on your screen. (See FAQs for more information on the MyAP activation process.) by October 20, 2026 (Midnight CST).
Students enrolled in AP® courses that COMMENCE in the Spring will have the opportunity to activate their AP® Exams without penalty between January 5, 2027 through February 16, 2027 (Midnight CST).
Step 2: Click on “Submit AP Exam Deposit” button below and submit a $40 deposit. For courses that start in the Fall, exam deposits are due by October 20, 2026.*
Students enrolled in Spring semester AP® Courses may submit deposits for these exams in the Fall but are not required to do so at that time. If submitted in the Fall, the deposit will remain on file until the activation step is completed in January. Penalty free fee submission is available until February 16, 2027 for students in Spring semester AP® courses.
To submit the deposit, complete the deposit form at the link below and submit deposit fees. Deposit submission may be done via credit card or debit card, OR by mailing in a check or money order. There will be an online payment fee of 3.9% for payments submitted by credit or debit card. Directions for payment can be found at the end of the online deposit form and in your parent e-mail confirmation. Postmark deadlines apply.
Failure to submit deposits by October 20, 2026 will mean the exam will NOT be ordered.

Step 3: Pay your balance due by March 25, 2027.
Students with an active exam order by October 20 will receive on December 1 at the parent email address on their deposit record for any applicable balance due.
3. Fee reductions are possible for qualifying students. All students will submit a minimum deposit of $40 per exam. If a student is approved for a Fee Reduction by KatyISD, their balance due will be automatically adjusted on their December invoice.
- Katy ISD anticipates exam subsidies to be approved by the State of Texas. If approved, these subsidies will further reduce the cost of the exams by amount TBD. Students eligible for the subsidies who are confirmed to have taken the exam in May, will receive an automatic partial refund in early June to their method of deposit submission.
4. Home-school student policy: A home-schooled student, who is enrolled in 9th-12th grade, may make arrangements to take the assessment at his/her zoned Katy ISD high school. Parents will need to contact the AP Coordinator, at the zoned high school campus, for registration requirements and possible costs.
5. Late Registration: Late registration with a penalty fee of $40 per exam will be available from November 16, 2026 until February 16, 2027 by clicking on the fee submission link below. SPRING registration does not have late registration period/option. Once the fee and late fees have been paid, any applicable balance due will be added to the student’s invoice and the exam activated in MyAP by the campus coordinator.
6. Cancellations and refunds: Students who have submitted an exam order (and deposit) and decide to cancel before October 20, 2026, will be able to recover their $40 deposit.
Students who have submitted an exam order (and deposit) and decide to cancel after October 20, 2026 and before 11:59pm CST March 25, 2027, will forfeit their deposit to cover the College Board cancellation penalty fee.**
Students who have submitted an exam order (and have paid their balance due) and decide to cancel after October 20, 2026 and before March 25, 2027 11:59pm CST, will forfeit a $3 processing fee and forfeit their deposit to cover the College Board cancellation penalty fee.
Students who qualified for a reduced rate on their exams will not be eligible for any refund if they cancel.
To cancel an exam, email cancel@aptsusa.com and include: your name, name of your school, and title of the exam to cancel. Any refund will be processed back to the method of payment. Cancellation requests submitted after March 25, 2027 and no-shows on exam day are not eligible for any refund. Debit/credit card processing fees are non-refundable.
7. Exam Locations: Exam Locations will be announced closer to the exam date by your campus.
* Exams covered by grants are exempt from the deposit.
** Students who are enrolled in SPRING semester classes MAY submit a deposit for these courses by October 20, and will be eligible to receive that deposit (and only this deposit) back through February 16, 2027 (for example, if they drop that course.).
